In Which I Try Not to Get Jet Lag

Where to even begin? I can't believe the second week of my time in Japan is coming to a close, and I'm headed back to L.A. on Sunday! Time has certainly flown!

Delicious meal the Bride made for us Bridemaids!
The Wedding was marvelous and went without a hitch. The Ritz Carlton put on a fabulous show, and I got to meet so many new people.

And guess which 5'4 gaijin towered over all the little Japanese girls and was able catch the bouquet? If you guessed FutureDiplo, then you win 100 points!

I do think I kinda snatched the bouquet from my twin, but she caught the bouquet at the last wedding she attended, so all's well that end's well, right? Plus the Ritz has video footage of the catch, and it looks like it sorta bounced ouf of her hands into mine (at least that's what I'm saying to make myself feel better!)

Tradition: Something old, something new,
something borrowed, something blue!
One of the bridesmaids actually made the quilt herself!

The Afterparty in the lounge was awesome!

A very famous Japanese newcaster was in the adjoining room having drinks with a couple of his buddies. Being the Americans we are, we asked him to come in and give some words of wisdom to the Bride (who is Japanese and was thankfully able to understand everything he said.) I thought it was very gracious of him to do that for her.

After that, everyone thought we were famous, which was hilarious once we started singing Disney songs at the top of our lungs. Straight looks of confusion.

I normally don't sing Disney songs or act too crazy in public, but if you're sitting in a private, glass-encased room in a very stuffy lounge, you make the use of it, right?

Japanese women are ridiculously well-dressed. I totally forgot that many women here are image-conscious, and I only brought jeans and flats.

Ah well, being an American makes up for it though! Nothing like hearing "famous people?" being whispered as you walk past to give you that confidence booster, lol.

Oh yeah -- Peace Corps is in 12 days!

I can hardly believe it! I am very excited and am trying to live in the moment. Hopefully Japan won't leave me totally wiped out!
